Celebrating the Past. Ready for the Next Chapter

As we step into the next chapter, we’re celebrating the library’s rich history with a look back at historic photos that honour the stories and people behind this much‑loved local library and its community.

Bulleen Library is the heart of the Bulleen community. It is a vital community hub where people of all ages and from all backgrounds are welcome. From its humble beginnings, as a carpark, over the past 42 years, Bulleen library (opened in 1984) has become central to the Bulleen community as a place where learning, culture and social connection intersect. Its impact reaches far beyond its walls, supporting residents of all ages with resources, programs and a welcoming environment

Supporting the Community

So much more than books, the library supports the community from all ages, walks of life and circumstances. The library actively supports digital inclusion through its free Wi-Fi, public computers and Digital Literacy support. Free programs are also provided for adults to encourage lifelong learning, social interaction and inclusion.

Celebrating the area’s cultural heritage, Bulleen library has always maintained a dedicated Italian language collection. The library encourages and supports families and children by hosting diverse early literacy sessions including Italian Storytime and school holiday programs.
